What Are Dentures?
Dentures are removable false teeth designed to look and function just like - or better than -your natural set of teeth. At Premier Arts Dental, we offer both full dentures and partial dentures, as well as implant-supported dentures.
Full Dentures
If all of your natural teeth have been removed - or if our dentures team determines that they must all be removed - you could be a good candidate for full dentures. Full dentures hug the contour of your jaw, creating a seal against your gums for a personalized fit. They are removable and are built to replace your natural teeth.
Partial Dentures
If you aren’t missing all of your teeth, an immediate denture can be used as an alternative to a bridge or multiple dental implants. Removable partial dentures clasp into place, supported by your existing teeth. In most cases, they are a more affordable alternative to dental implants. The best part? You can walk out of our office with your new denture the very same day that it's fitted.
Implant-Supported Dentures
Unlike removable partial and full dentures, implant-supported dentures, (also known as overdentures), are reinforced with dental implants. The implants are placed in order to bolster stability and prevent slipping and sliding. If you have struggled with the fit of your dentures in the past, this option could add some much-needed comfort.
How Do I Take Care Of My Dentures?
Dentures, just like natural teeth, require daily care in order to stay clean and keep dangerous bacteria from growing. It’s important to keep your dentures clean in order to keep your smile healthy.
For removable full and partial dentures, as well as implant-supported dentures, we recommend following these care best practices:
- Remove and rinse dental dentures after meal times
- Gently rinse out and clean your mouth after removing the dentures
- Brush and soak your dentures overnight using a denture cleanser - and remember to rinse them thoroughly before placing them back in your mouth
